Look around yourselves
Can’t you see this wonder
Spreaded infront of you
The clouds floating by
The skies are clear and blue
Planets in the orbits
The moon and the sun
Such perfect harmony

Let’s start question in ourselves
Isn’t this proof enough for us
Or are we so blind
To push it all aside..
No..

We just have to
Open our eyes, our hearts, and minds
If we just look bright to see the signs
We can’t keep hiding from the truth
Let it take us by surprise
Take us in the best way
(Allah..)
Guide us every single day..
(Allah..)
Keep us close to You
Until the end of time.

Look inside yourselves
Such a perfect order
Hiding in yourselves
Running in your veins
What about anger love and pain
And all the things you’re feeling
Can you touch them with your hand?
So are they really there?

Lets start question in ourselves
Isn’t this proof enough for us?
Or are we so blind
To push it all aside..?
No..

We just have to
Open our eyes, our hearts, and minds
If we just look bright to see the signs
We can’t keep hiding from the truth
Let it take us by surprise
Take us in the best way
(Allah..)
Guide us every single day..
(Allah..)
Keep us close to You
Until the end of time..

When a baby’s born
So helpless and weak
And you’re watching him growing..
So why deny
Whats in front of your eyes
The biggest miracle of life..

We just have to
Open our eyes, our hearts, and minds
If we just look quiet we’ll see the signs
We can’t keep hiding from the truth
Let it take us by surprise
Take us in the best way
(Allah..)
Guide us every single day..
(Allah..)
Keep us close to You
Until the end of time..

Open your eyes and hearts and minds
If you just look bright to see the signs
We can’t keep hiding from the truth
Let it take us by surprise
Take us in the best way
(Allah..)
Guide us every single day..
(Allah..)
Keep us close to You
Until the end of time..

Allah..
You created everything
We belong to You
Ya Robb we raise our hands
Forever we thank You..
Alhamdulillah..

Effect of TV on Children

TV is one of the most influential for society; it can be useful, educated, and also addictive, even harmful.  TV is widely available in the world and can be found at almost every corner of our homes. For children, it is hard to avoid television if people in the house are usually watching TV. In fact, in some homes the television is perpetually turned on even without anyone watching.  It is common for parents to use TV as a substitute babysitter. Many parents think that TV can make their children smart. But in reality, TV gives more bad effect on children especially in education aspect because it can decrease creativity, reduce their study achievement, lessen their performance in school.

effect TV pada pemirsa bisa baik atau buruk. Dominan yang mana??

TV can be useful, educated, and also addictive, even harmful.

TV has shown decrease creativity because TV slow down brainwaves puts the viewer into highly suggestible sleep like hypnotic state, and can reduce intelligent. For example when watching TV, the brain does not have to construct images by it self. But when reading, children’s brain would have to make up that image it self and so will require greater brain activity than if they saw TV. It’s mean that if children do not challenge their brain very often in order to watch TV, this will lead a reduction in creativity. Watching TV also puts the viewer into highly suggestible sleeplike hypnotic state. These provide easy access to the subconscious. Children may think that TV does no harm because children know it’s not real, but did children know that their subconscious believes it to be real? that why children’s heart beats faster while watching horror films, often they fear to watch it.  When children watch TV, brain activity switches from the left side of brain, responsible for logical thought and critical analysis, to the right side. This is significant because the right side of the brain does not critically analyze incoming information; instead it uses an emotional response. This means there is little or no analysis of incoming information. In other words it makes children less intelligent.

TV as a causal factor of descent children’s achievement, TV takes away the time that children need to develop important skills like language, reading, social and emotional skills. Language is only learned through interaction with other people when talking and listening which used in the context of real life. Children’s language skills are not improved by passively listening to the TV. Reading requires much more thinking than television, and we know that reading fosters children’s healthy brain development. Children who growing up in families in which the TV is on always or most of the time spend less time reading and being read to, and are less likely to be able to read. “TV viewing takes away time from reading and improving reading skills through practice, “(Comstock, 1991).” Childrens watching cartoons and entertainment television during pre-school years have poorer pre-reading skills at age 5,” (Macbeth, 1996).  Also, “childrens who watch entertainment TV are also less likely to read books and other print media.”(Wright & Huston, 1995)”. When children play, they actively learning about how the world work and wire their brain by experimenting with cause and effect. For example when interacts with people, he meets his emotional milestones. TV keeps children away from these activities. Note that when children smile at the TV, the TV does not smile back. This may affect them socially and psychologically.

The last but not least, TV  make them poor of intelligence, less alert during in school, and leads to mental laziness. The more television that children watch, the less investment that they put in the mental effort required to master academic skills. Instead, they watch television programs that are entertaining and easy to understand. As a result, children are not likely to engage in activities that require intellectual functioning, such as reading.” A low level of mental effort is elicited by television viewing and eventually leads to a tendency to expend little mental effort required to read or to solve arithmetic problems (Suedfeld, Little, Rank, Rank, & Ballard, 1986)”. Children who watch too much TV tend to work less on their homework.  When doing homework with TV on the background, children tend to retain less skill and information. If children lose sleep because of TV, they become less alert during the day. As a consequence, children have poor performance in school.

As we have seen, watching TV is really a big waste of time and gives bad effect on children. They watch TV for hours and do not realize how much time is wasted. But actually children can do something productive and constructive. It means that they are being uncreative. TV can freezing children’s mind and obstruct children from exercising initiative, being intellectually challenged, thinking analytically, and using his imagination. TV also leads children’s mental laziness this propensity for mental laziness or passive-cognitive functioning can be considered to be a result of watching television, which may hinder academic achievement that requires more active intellectual efforts. Remember, a healthy brain is an active brain, when it is not used it begins to weaken and break down.
